A DMC in Armenia should do more than send a list of hotels and restaurants. For an international event agency, the local partner is the team that turns a brief into something that can actually be delivered on the ground: the right venue, realistic logistics, reliable production, local suppliers and people who are physically there when the event happens.
Persikona works both directly with companies and as a local delivery partner for event and MICE agencies. When we work through an agency, the client remains the agency’s client. The scope can be the whole Armenia programme or only the pieces that need local knowledge.
What a DMC in Armenia can take off your plate
| Workstream | What the local team handles |
|---|---|
| Destination and venue research | Shortlist, feasibility, access, weather and Plan B |
| Hotels | Group rates, rooming logic, meeting space, meals |
| Transport | Airport arrivals, buses, regional transfers, dispatch |
| Production | Sound, light, screens, stage, power, crew, temporary infrastructure |
| Food and beverage | Restaurants, catering, coffee breaks, gala dinners, off-site setups |
| Experiences | Team building, sailing, outdoor formats, custom games, cultural programmes |
| On-site operations | Registration, staff, timings, suppliers, guest flow, troubleshooting |
When you actually need a local DMC
If your programme is a dinner in one central Yerevan restaurant, you may not need a full DMC. The value appears when the project has several moving parts: international arrivals, multiple venues, regional travel, technical production, outdoor elements, custom activities or a client who expects one accountable local team.
Armenia is compact, but compact does not mean frictionless. A route that looks easy on a map may still need bus access checks, equipment transport, weather backup, power planning or a different timing for a large group.

How we work with international agencies
1. We keep the commercial relationship clear
Your client remains your client. We agree who communicates what, which materials carry whose branding and where Persikona needs direct operational access to the end client or participants.
2. We budget by workstream, not by mystery package
Hotel, transport, production, catering, programme and staffing should be visible as separate blocks. It makes approvals faster and lets an agency remove or replace one layer without dismantling the whole project.
3. We manage suppliers as delivery, not as a contact list
The useful part of a DMC is not a spreadsheet of phone numbers. It is knowing which supplier fits the brief, confirming the scope, holding the timeline, checking access and technical conditions and being responsible for the result on site.
What to put in the first brief

- event dates or a date window;
- participant count and countries of origin;
- number of nights and hotel level;
- business objective and required meeting format;
- must-have production and branding;
- approximate budget or at least a comfort range;
- what is already contracted by the agency and what Armenia scope is still open.
A good brief does not need to be long. A clear one-page email is more useful than a 40-slide deck that never says how many people are coming.
A realistic workflow
| Stage | Output |
|---|---|
| 1. Brief | Dates, size, objective, budget logic, open scope |
| 2. Feasibility | Destination, venue and operational options |
| 3. Budget structure | Supplier-backed working estimate by block |
| 4. Pre-production | Concept, programme, technical and logistics detail |
| 5. Confirmation | Contracts, deposits, supplier holds |
| 6. Delivery | On-site team, timings, suppliers, guest flow |
| 7. Close | Final reconciliation and project handover |
What is specific about Armenia
The country gives you very different event environments within a relatively short programme: Yerevan for business infrastructure, Tsaghkadzor for a classic resort offsite, Lake Sevan for premium summer formats, Dilijan for a quieter retreat and northern regions for nature and adventure.

What to ask any Armenia DMC before you appoint them
- Who is the on-site project lead?
- What is included in the fee and what is marked up separately?
- How are weather and Plan B handled?
- Who checks technical access, power and supplier timings?
- Can the team support both English and Russian communication where needed?
