Corporate Offsite in Armenia: Where to Go and What You Can Actually Do

A practical guide to corporate offsites in Armenia: Yerevan, Tsaghkadzor, Lake Sevan, Lori, Dilijan and unconventional outdoor formats.

A corporate offsite in Armenia does not have to mean checking into a resort, adding one team-building activity and calling it a retreat.

Within a few hours of Yerevan, the same team can move between a city programme, a mountain resort, a sailing regatta on Lake Sevan, a nature-first journey through Lori, a forest retreat or an outdoor event in an almost desert-like landscape.

That variety is one of Armenia’s biggest advantages for corporate groups. It can also make planning harder: the right destination depends less on which place looks best in photographs and more on what the team is actually travelling for.

Most of the formats below can be adapted for groups from around 30 people to 200+ participants. Scale changes the hotels, transport, infrastructure and mechanics, but not necessarily the overall concept.

Yerevan: when convenience comes first

Central Yerevan, Armenia
Yerevan, Armenia

For an international team coming to Armenia for the first time, Yerevan is often the easiest base. Guests arrive through Zvartnots Airport, hotels are concentrated in the city, and meetings, dinners, cultural programmes and evening events can happen without constantly moving the whole group.

Yerevan works particularly well when:

  • a conference or company meeting is an important part of the programme;
  • participants arrive and depart on different flights;
  • the group needs several hotel categories;
  • restaurants, nightlife or independent free time matter;
  • the event itself is only one or two days.

The trade-off is simple: the team is still in a city. We often use Yerevan as the arrival and departure point and move the main shared experience outside it.

Tsaghkadzor: the classic company offsite

Tsaghkadzor is one of the easiest regional destinations for a multi-day retreat. Hotels, meeting spaces, mountain surroundings and activities can be combined within a relatively compact area.

It works particularly well when the task is simple: take the team away for two or three days and actually keep people together.

A programme can combine:

  • company meetings, lectures and presentations;
  • indoor and outdoor games;
  • team competitions and custom team-building;
  • evening entertainment and dinners;
  • winter activities.

From our experience: Dolphin

For Dolphin, Persikona produced a two-day company offsite in Tsaghkadzor. The programme combined a lecture with pétanque, cornhole, Jenga, air hockey, table tennis and an interactive evening show.

Three days before the event, the weather forecast changed significantly. Instead of trying to preserve the original plan at any cost, we rebuilt the programme and adapted the activities. Persikona coordinated transfers, technical equipment, lighting, sound, programme elements and the event on site.

That is also the main rule for Tsaghkadzor: mountain weather should be part of the production plan, not a surprise on the morning of the event.

See the full Dolphin offsite case for the programme and production details.

Lake Sevan: a premium destination offsite

Lake Sevan can be much more than a lunch stop during an Armenia itinerary. In summer, the whole corporate day can be built around the lake so that the location becomes part of the event itself.

One format we particularly like starts with a corporate sailing regatta. Teams race on sailing boats with instructors, while branding can be integrated into sails, flags or team identity. Tasks on the water and a separate hospitality zone on shore can turn the race into a full team experience.

After the regatta, the programme changes pace: a reception or retreat block on shore, time to talk and recover, and then a destination dinner with a custom cocktail menu, live music, DJ, lighting and sound, performance elements, lounge areas, photo and video production and drone coverage.

Sevan needs serious production planning. Wind, temperature changes, electricity, catering access, technical equipment, transport and guest comfort all need to be checked before a beautiful piece of shoreline becomes a functioning event venue. A nice beach is not automatically an event space.

Lori: when the team is travelling for nature

If nature is the main reason for leaving Yerevan, Lori deserves much more attention than it usually gets. The region feels wilder and more dramatic, with mountains, gorges, forests, rivers, monasteries and small communities becoming part of the journey.

We would consider Lori for teams that want to feel they have genuinely travelled somewhere, rather than simply moved from a city hotel to a resort hotel.

A programme can include:

  • hiking and outdoor routes;
  • off-road programmes and team challenges;
  • several locations combined into one regional journey;
  • local food and culinary experiences;
  • music, dance and relaxed evening programmes.

The cost is logistics: transfers are longer, schedules need more buffer and major decisions should be made earlier. For the right team, that is exactly the point.

Dilijan: forest, comfort and time to slow down

Dilijan remains one of Armenia’s strongest choices for a quieter corporate retreat. Forests, comfortable hotels and a slower rhythm suit leadership groups, strategy sessions, creative teams and programmes where conversation matters more than constant entertainment.

We would choose Dilijan over Lori when comfort, hotel infrastructure and quiet time matter more than adventure. We would choose Lori when the landscape and journey should become part of the experience.

Northern Armenia for adventure programmes

If the team wants more physical and adventure-led activities, northern Armenia gives another type of offsite altogether.

Possible elements include:

  • ziplining and height-based activities;
  • off-road routes;
  • horse riding;
  • outdoor team challenges;
  • a regional dinner followed by Armenian food, music or dance experiences.

This is not a “sit in a forest hotel and discuss strategy” retreat. The shared experience is the programme.

White Sands: when a corporate offsite should not look corporate

White Sands, Armenia

Not every team wants a resort. White Sands gives the opposite: an almost empty landscape that can be turned into a temporary event space.

A programme can include:

  • ATVs and active formats;
  • team games and beach volleyball;
  • informal food stations and picnic setups;
  • live percussion, DJ and fire performance;
  • a sunset programme and lounge areas.

Inside our team, we once described the idea as “our own little Burning Man”. The empty landscape is the advantage and the production challenge at the same time: shade, power, toilets, catering infrastructure, sound, lighting and furniture may all need to be brought in.

White Sands works because of the contrast: an almost empty landscape can be turned into a highly considered, contemporary event environment. For this type of setup, we work with Nove Concept House on the decor and visual concept. Even in a remote location with almost no existing infrastructure, the event does not have to feel improvised. Furniture, textiles, lighting, table styling and small details can turn the site into a complete event space built almost from scratch.

You do not have to choose only one destination

Armenia is compact enough to change atmosphere several times during one offsite without turning the programme into an endless road trip.

City + Lake

Day 1: arrival and welcome dinner in Yerevan. Day 2: business programme or conference. Day 3: Lake Sevan sailing regatta, shore programme and destination dinner.

City + Nature

Day 1: arrival in Yerevan. Days 2–3: a regional retreat in Lori or Dilijan. Final evening: back in Yerevan.

City + Unexpected Armenia

Day 1: meetings and evening programme in Yerevan. Day 2: White Sands with ATVs, team activities and a sunset event. Day 3: free time or cultural programme in Yerevan.

How we choose the format

1. What should change after the trip?

A strategy session, a company milestone, reconnecting a remote team and simply spending good time together are different objectives. The destination should follow the objective, not the other way around.

2. How much organised programme does the team actually need?

Some groups want a schedule from breakfast to midnight. Others need one strong shared experience and enough space to talk. More programme is not automatically a better offsite.

3. How much adventure is comfortable?

A sailing regatta, ATV programme or active outdoor day can become the main memory of the trip, but large groups work better when there are alternatives for people who want a different level of intensity.

4. How much production complexity makes sense?

A hotel-based programme is easier operationally. A private lakeside dinner or an event in White Sands can create a much stronger experience, but temporary infrastructure, catering, power, furniture, transport and technical production have to be built around it.

5. What is Plan B?

For mountain and outdoor events in Armenia, this question belongs at the beginning of planning, not the day before the group arrives.

How much does a corporate offsite in Armenia cost?

There is no honest single “from” price for these programmes. Accommodation, season, number of nights, destination, food level, transport and the amount of temporary production can move the budget dramatically.

Send us the approximate dates, group size, number of nights and the purpose of the trip. We can compare realistic formats and build a preliminary budget structure around the actual brief instead of forcing the project into a package price.

FAQ

Questions and answers

What is the best place for a corporate offsite in Armenia?

It depends on the objective. Yerevan is easiest for logistics and business infrastructure, Tsaghkadzor for a classic multi-day resort offsite, Lake Sevan for premium summer formats, Dilijan for a quieter retreat and northern regions for nature-first programmes.

What group sizes work for a corporate offsite in Armenia?

Many formats can be adapted for roughly 30 to 200+ participants. As the group grows, transport, hotel inventory, activity rotations, temporary infrastructure and Plan B need more structure.

Is Lake Sevan suitable for corporate events?

Yes, especially for premium summer programmes such as sailing, private shore hospitality and destination dinners. Wind, temperature, power, catering access and backup space need to be planned carefully.

Can Persikona organise the full offsite in Armenia?

Yes. Persikona can handle destination and venue research, hotels, transfers, technical production, catering, team activities, entertainment, photo and video, staffing and on-site coordination.
